Three things to capture at sign-up

Most trial charges are avoidable at the moment you start the trial, not at the moment it ends.

1. The exact conversion date

Not ‘in a month’ — the calendar date. Trials of 7, 14 and 30 days all exist, and some start counting from the sign-up while others start after a setup step.

2. What it costs afterwards

The post-trial price is often different from the price advertised on the landing page, because the advertised one is an annual rate shown per month.

3. Where the cancel control lives

Find it once, while you are already logged in and the interface is fresh. It is far quicker than finding it under time pressure a month later.
